Our Mission…

… is “to lead people to be devoted followers of Christ within a fellowship of faith, hope, and love.”

Our mission for Heritage Baptist Church incorporates the teaching of Jesus as described as the Great Commission: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:18-20)

Our mission also incorporates the Great Commandment from Jesus: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets”
(Matthew 22:37-40)

Heritage Baptist Church is an intimate gathering of followers of Christ, sharing community and discipleship as we traverse together. During our journey as a church family in Wake Forest, North Carolina, we have shared several chapters with differing characteristics regarding how we gather and what we do in the community as we live our faith in Jesus. At every turn, we seek to be led by God through prayerful discernment and faithful action.

Our ways of gathering…

… have changed since the pandemic.

We have noticed that the ways we do many things have shifted since the coronavirus pandemic, and our routines as a church family are among those changes. We gather weekly via conference call for worship, prayer, and lectio divina (sacred reading). We gather in person every six to eight weeks to share a meal, fellowship, and new insights in our spiritual lives.
